PATROLI TV | ACEH — The Customs and Excise Narcotics Eradication Directorate, together with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Aceh Regional Customs Office, and Langsa Customs, successfully thwarted an attempted narcotics smuggling operation weighing approximately 100 kg in East Aceh, Aceh.
The operation took place on January 24–25, 2026, in the Alue Tho area, East Peureulak District, East Aceh Regency, after the joint team obtained and processed intelligence information regarding suspected narcotics smuggling via sea routes vulnerable to exploitation by organized crime networks.
The Director of Customs and Excise Narcotics Eradication, R. Syarif Hidayat, explained that the initial information was received on January 21, 2026.
Based on further analysis, he said, officers detected a planned narcotics transport from the Peureulak area to North Aceh.
To verify this information, the team conducted covert surveillance, mapped vulnerable points, and identified parties suspected of being involved in the drug trafficking network.
The surveillance focused on locations suspected of being temporary storage sites.
On Saturday night (January 24th), the team received information about a warehouse intended to be used as a transaction location. From this surveillance, officers identified a vehicle highly suspected of being used to transport narcotics.
Officers then conducted an inspection, pursuit, and enforcement (RPE) of the vehicle. During the operation, a driver identified as MZ was arrested.
During the search, officers found five yellow sacks containing 100 packages of methamphetamine, each weighing approximately one kilogram. The total amount of evidence reached approximately 100 kilograms.
All evidence was then tested using a Narcotics Identification Kit (NIK) and tested positive for methamphetamine.
Based on the initial investigation, the suspect admitted to only acting as a courier and receiving orders from someone with the initials "I."
The suspect, along with the evidence, was then secured at the Langsa National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) Office for further investigation and network development.
Syarif emphasized that this disclosure demonstrates the importance of synergy between agencies in protecting border areas and sea lanes from the threat of narcotics. He stated that integrated surveillance is key to breaking the chain of drug trafficking.
"We will continue to develop this case and pursue other parties involved. This effort will not stop at one perpetrator," he emphasized. (Jamil)
